With an extensive background in elite level sport and exercise science, Ryan embodies the Peak Power philosophy of combining academics and athletics. After receiving his Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of Alberta, he completed his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. Ryan's findings on endurance training adaptations have been presented at national and international conferences. He has also instructed courses in anatomy, exercise physiology and resistance training at the University of Alberta.
Athletically,
Ryan has competed in hockey and rugby at the varsity and national
levels respectively, Over the past 6 years Ryan has crossed over
to the endurance side of sport and has competed in mountain biking
and road cycling. Currently, Ryan competes as a road and track cyclist
for Synergy Racing cycling club and was the '07 Alberta Cat 4 Criterium
silver medalist.
The knowledge Ryan has gained through studying yoga and functional movement gives him an innovative perspective on optimizing human movement and how it relates to performance. His diverse background gives him a wholistic and progressive view on training that has helped both weekend warriors and professional athletes achieve their full potential.
Peak Power is excited to have Ryan re-establish the science within our endurance programs.
